Hot chocolate

Charlton Athletic 3 Rochdale 1
Whoopee, a win. Now do I make that four decent performances in a row or have I just eaten too much chocolate? I listened in on Player and unlike normal, it was actually quite enjoyable. Some good individual performances, particularly from Eccleston, Racon and Parrett, plenty of heart and some pleasing passages of play.
Rochdale have a good away record this season and only Brighton have let in less goals on their travels. Powell put out a patched together side, even Jenkinson got to wear his shirt for the last time and Calum Harriot made his debut. The team did include loan players who probably won’t be with us next season, although I am hoping it is not beyond the realms of possibility that Michael Slater could convince Harry Redknapp that Dean Parrett will benefit from a full season with us. Sullivan, Bessone and Stewart too, but I’ll leave that to others that have seen them more often than me.
A win then in the sunshine then, with good vocal backing coming out loud and clear on the radio. One cannot underestimate how important it is to finish this season on a high.
