Sin Miguel

According to Sky Sports Miguel Ángel Llera will be one of the first out of The Valley come the end of next weekend. News of the central defender’s availability on a free transfer this summer is sure to alert a number of clubs in England and abroad. So it says here.

I read (somewhere, I can’t remember) that Joe Anyinsah won’t play again this season due to injury, nor will he play for Charlton again as he won’t be offered a deal either. Shame, because I think he has some talent but so did Gary Rowett.

Jose Semedo, Therry Racon, Christian Dailly, Kelly Youga, Little Ross Warner, Kyel Reid, Michael Stewart and Jon Fortune all have their contracts up in May. Carl Jenkinson has already declined a new one and loanees Nathan Eccleston, Dean Parrett, John Sullivan, Fede Bessone and Frank Nouble all return to their parent clubs, although Sullivan’s Millwall contract is believed to also expire.

I am available and willing to commit to another 37-year contract.

    ‘Another 37 year contract’?

You haven’t exactly made much of an impression of you’ve been at the club for 37 years already!

Still, if they do offer you a contract for next season please give me the heads up as I’d like to sponsor your kit.

    😉

Lol. I’d rather you sponsor my beer money! Why are you up? Can’t sleep because of tomorrow’s Big Day?!

I can’t say I’d be surprised ref. Big Mig, but I am a bit disappointed by it. He’s clearly got a huge heart, a decent left foot and height on his side, but his habit of regular and potentially costly mistakes coupled with his lack of pace mean he’s unlikely to be anything other than 3-4th choice.

For the record: I’d out Reid (not anywhere near enough end result), Forch (love the guy, but too slow and too inclined to hoof the ball into row z) and Anyinsah (too injury prone). In addition, although it may not be easy if their under contract, I’d out Francis & McCormack. I’m not convinced about Bessone (defensive frailties) so I wouldn’t Persue that path, although Sullivan may well be worth taking on.

It should be an interesting close-season…!
