Fainted
I started Good Friday with a hangover. I was, as I tried to explain to my other half, a touch over-served by the waiter in Harry’s last night and it was also what I call a ‘London night out,’ i.e. no food. My punishment was a nudge in the ribs at 6.15am as my daughter’s crying heralded an early breakfast time for me and her.
Later I was blowing up a rubber ring before we headed out and I fainted. I have no idea what happened and I only blacked out for a few seconds but it did earn me a bit of sympathy.
Good Friday in Bermuda is about two things. Kites and fish cakes. Thousands flock to the beaches and parks to fly kites, a lot of which are homemade. We had a Barbie one, bought in town but I soon found myself stood there holding it on my own as little ‘un quickly lost interest. Fortunately there were plenty of other middle-aged men holding princess and telletubbies kites, some actually didn’t even appear to have kids and were on their own!
We were at Tuckers Point where the driving range had been turned into family day, and it was very nice as were the Bermudian fish cakes, made with cod and potato and served in between a hot cross bun.
More Easter festivities tomorrow.
