63 years of hurt

Charlton Athletic 2 Luton Town 2
As tough as it is to follow Emma Jones’ commentary on BBC Radio London it sounded to me as if Luton deserved their draw yesterday afternoon and a replay adds another game to our already busy fixture list, which now sends us on the road for all but one of our next five games. Maybe not a bad thing judging by recent form!
Luton gave us plenty of problems in the first half after we didn’t build on Anyinsah’s early headed goal from a Reid cross. The Hatters equalised from a dubious penalty that was initially saved by Elliot but after Jackson scored again not long after to quieten the away end up I hoped we would be home and hosed. Shocker, we weren’t but by all accounts Drury’s goal was a corker.
Let’s be honest no one cares, look at the turnout. In 63 years they have hardly given us any reason to be hopeful of a cup run have they?

CA fact: 7 academy players were in yesterday’s match squad. 3 more than when we last played Luton 3 years ago. That day Fortune, Randolph, Arter and Sankofa all featured.
