Final chapter on Yann

“Charlton wanted to show people they had tried to do something when in reality they had done nothing special. Even a little offer. They never came back to me or my agent even with something very very low. They could have said they would give me a little bit more – maybe I would have accepted”.

Yann Kermorgant has given a pretty damming interview to Richard Cawley from the SLP (it was only in the published edition, but the guys from Charlton Life have seen it), which further darkens the last few days of the transfer window for us Addicks.

Pole dancer

But little dancing in the streets around Floyd Road tonight.

Piotr Parzyszek did sign for the Addicks after passing a medical early morning and travelled to Wigan with the first team squad. Cedric Evina must have been on the bus too, as his loan move to Bradford didn’t materialise, although it might next week.

One man not on the bus was Yann Kermorgant, who did sign for Bournemouth. He left with these words: “I’m a Charlton fan as well. I had a very, very good relationship with the fans and I love them.” He will be missed.

Third time lucky at the John Smith’s Stadium today, which reminds me that I have no problem with grounds being sponsored, as long as it doesn’t re-write history, but it just becomes plain silly when the name keeps getting changed, so let’s start again..

Third time lucky at the Alfred McAlpine Stadium today to propel the Addicks into a nose-bleed inducing 5th Round draw, the first time since 2006 when we made the Quarter Finals – Operation Riverside, remember that?

Hold the back page! Another Addicks signing. Ben Alnwick who had his contract mutually terminated by Barnsley on Monday has joined on a one-year’s contract.

Alnwick is one of a host of homegrown young goalkeepers who has simply faded from view. The Northumberland born ‘keeper has represented England at all levels up to Under 21 and at just 20 earnt a big money move to Tottenham, who paid an initial fee of £900,000 to Sunderland.

He has since been loaned to all and sundry and ended up at Barnsley a year ago signing then a 2-year deal. Alnwick, if you remember, played very well against us in one the ‘games for fiver’ last season. He was on the bench for the away game if you are asking!
