Zach Mitchell joins St. Johnstone on loan
A big season for Zach Mitchell, who has joined Scottish Premiership side St. Johnstone on a season-long loan.
Mitchell was there at the second half of the 2024/25 season, but last year had a very unproductive time at Hibernian before being recalled by Nathan Jones in January.
Mitchell then had one non-playing role on the subs bench, and has only ever played 7 league games for the Addicks since breaking into the first team in 2022.
Although the club has a year’s option on the 21-year old, one would think if he can impress this time around in Scotland’s top tier he will leave the club for a small fee next summer.
Keenan Gough appears very much ahead of Mitchell now.
Best of luck Zach, still one of our own.

You feel like Charlton are still hedging their bets with Mitchell, as a strong season north of the border could see him back in contention, or at least as you say, increasing his value to sell on. I will be interested to see if Asiimwe (who I had forgotten about!) goes out on loan again, or whether he is an option at the RWB position, as a back-up.
It also got me thinking about the standard of Scottish football, as in the past I considered Celtic & Rangers as being capable of surviving in the Premier League, but now, probably not so. That being the case, is the Scottish Prem now Championship/League One level? If anyone watches Scottish football, I would be intrigued to know what they think…
I watch Motherwell, they have just had an excellent season finishing forth. I believe they are league one level at least. Up the Addicks
