And the new kit is
Red.
And importantly ‘Charlton red’ which is all I really look out for these days. It is simple, unfussy and um, red. More white trim than the black from last season, but the little Reebok bird poop on the shoulder is unnecessary and RSK continues on the front of shirt.
It’s a safe bet, people who want one will buy one, parents and grandparents will buy one for the kids whether they want one or not.
I don’t quite get the reference to the Covered End on the shirt front or can I see the club crest inspiration on the back.
Nonetheless home kits should be simplistic and traditional, hopefully the away kit takes on a historical Charlton change shirt colour, i.e. not blue and then Reebok can go a little crazy with the 3rd kit. At least these days we are no longer tied into having to wear the away kit on the road, we can wear red if it doesn’t clash.
The team will wear it at Dartford on Friday night.
For those interested you can pre-order online from tomorrow morning, and it’ll be in the store in two weeks time. £59 for a home adult shirt, £44 for kids.
