Leicester docked 6 points

Leicester City have been docked six points by the EFL for breaching financial rules after they were charged by the Premier League in May for a profit and sustainability (PSR) breach in the three years leading up to 2023-24.

The deduction is applied immediately meaning they fall from 17th to 20th in the table and put another body between us and the bottom three.

Under PSR, Premier League clubs cannot lose more than £105m over a three year period, Leicester lost almost double that. A six point deduction sounds light to me.

The Premier League were pushing for a much bigger points fine, and looks as if the EFL have bottled it. Leicester are considering their options.

As always we have to do what we can do, but that win last weekend has just become even more important.

When will we hear that Man City have been deducted points or relegated? Or will the EFL bottle it again, as they are a big club?

EFL no jurisdiction over Premier League sides while they’re in the EPL
Biggest surprise is that the EFL sanctioned Leicester so swiftly and in a season that could be impacted. EFL prefer to delay points penalties until they’re of no practical impact – see SWFC

Craig, yes, with these 3 home matches a minimum of 7 points, and preferably all 9 points!!.
Unfortunately, football does not always work like this, but I have noticed several clubs have got maximum points in 3 matches, so why can’t do it?

10 points only ever likely if the cheating team resorts to administration to renege on its debts
EFL much more concerned with the phoenix club proving it has funds to pay just the football creditors after resurrection
If/whenf Leicester appeal we can expect EFL to reduce or defer some of the points penalty

Greg, the old saying do not change a winning side, but unless there are injuries. I would not, but obviously again is playing with an ankle injury, and likely having injections to be able to play.
These next 3 home games are absolutely crucial, but this is football in that it never goes the way we want.
I fancy Godden to fire in his first goal, but not making any predictions on the result.
