Tiernan Brooks signs as 3rd choice ‘keeper

Rob Elliot was probably influential in Charlton’s signing of Gateshead ‘keeper Tiernan Brooks today.

The 23-year-old has put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half year deal, with a club option of a further year.

The Sheffield-born ‘keeper came through the academy at Notts County, had numerous loans, before joining Gateshead in the summer of 2024.

A Republic of Ireland youth international, Brooks has represented his country five times at U21s level.

With Ashley Maynard-Brewer moving on today, Brooks will come in as Charlton’s 3rd choice goalkeeper.

Gateshead where Elliot has just returned as manager are bottom of the National League and Brooks has played in 23 of their 27 league games.

Welcome to the club, Tiernan.

Mmmmmm……I think it’s an error to get rid of Ash…unless he decided to move to get regular games.
Let’s see how Brookes develops under Hendersons guidance and hopefully he’ll be an asset.

Thats comforting hes played nearly all the games and they are bottom of the league! I think NJ should play him now as he will fit in well with the current mob including recent signings. 🙂
