Rob Apter leaves on loan

There’s been a lot going on this evening at Sparrows Lane.

To much melting down by Addicks fans, Rob Apter has gone on loan to Bolton Wanderers for the rest of the season. Apter is a Lancashire boy of course, and it’s been obvious that Nathan Jones, and possibly Jones alone, doesn’t feel he is ready for The Championship

I mean, he was more than ready in August when he not only won player of the month, but also won over Addicks’ fans with his attacking play and crossing ability.

Yet, once James Bree came in Apter made just two starts, and hasn’t played at all this year. Apter has warmed the bench 16 times this season in all comps without getting on.

The signing of Apter, high on Jones’ wanted list, was warmly welcomed by Addicks in July.

Bolton are in a very good spot, and they also just signed Corey Blackett-Taylor on loan too. I hope Rob gets plenty of game time, has a smile back on his face, and he returns to us and still goes on to be a key player for us.

HI CA I was more interested in who we brought in but now after this business with Olafe out as well no new Midfielders with power and punch Jones is looking stupid.£3.5 million out 10 pence in ! Going down let’s accept it now !

Why accept it? Get behind the team and support them.

If we do go down then get rid of NJ. But if he keeps us there, let’s see what he can do next season – it’s a tough division and so easy to blame the manager each time.

Ok some of his signings haven’t paid off, But I like the keeper, and amari bell, and soney Carey.

If you think it’s as easy as buying a few players and they all click into place and we end up mid table then you are living in cuckoo land!

I’m sorry but this is a shocking decision. He hasn’t been given a chance. Apparently he’s 22 and not ready, so we sign someone 22 from Stockport County and I’m not sure he’s even played this season. Is he ready? Lost for words 😡

Don’t believe what you see on social media posted by some people.. the guy has played over 20 games.. admittedly some from the sub bench. I hope he is ready as we need players to play from the start. He looks and sounds like another Thierry Small ! More players to follow hopefully.. I can see Mbick being sold this window too.. releasing funds. Central midfielder please.. if not 2 !
Saturday’s team lineup will be interesting..

RA I don’t think we should also believe what you always say, as we all can see you love to support NJ come what may, but please check the records on our new player from Stockport

Played 29 games (incls cup games)
He has actually only started 7 games. (Subbed of on some)
        Been subbed on 14 times
        On the Bench 3 games
Not in the Squad 4 times
Plus it appears he has only played around 90 minutes 4 times.

Now when you consider Stockport are really going for promotion this year having missed out previously, do you honestly think the manager want to loan out one of his best players who could assist in that? That’s why he is more than willing to bring back Olafe and get shot of a player who is on the fringe of the team and not playing most games and luckily NJ steps up as he believes he is up to Championship level and will help us avoid relegation, even though he is struggling to hold down a regular place in a divsison lower!

As per usual with most of these current last minute signings/loans, the players NJ had on his list, don’t want to sign for Charlton for whatever reason. Therefore as previously, he is now scrapping the barrel to try and get anyone in, who goes along with his one track wing back formation, which isn’t working anymore and hasn’t for quite a long while.

Totally, agree Eaststand, NJ prefers to keep playing his favourite players that are consistanly poor and not giving Apter a chance! Plus if he couldn’t cope moving up a division, how did he win player of the month at the start of the season with NJ agreeing he deserved it, but as soon as his most favourite player ever in Bree arrived on loan, Apter was staright away demoted to the bench with his next start against Southampton, where most of the goals came from the left side anyway, he was hauled off and made the scapegoat for far worse players that day and that was the end of his playing time under Jones.

There’s no point trying to apply any logic to the Manager’s thought process. It’s all very contradictory. I don’t think NJ knows what he wants.

    Hello,
NJ has signed a player who is surplus to requirements at a league one club, why does he think he will thrive in the Championship? So we have a young left wingback lacking recent match experience on the left and a fringe league one wingback on the right? Furthermore NJ inflexibly sticks to use of Wingbacks? Is NJ intentionally trying to get the club relegated? Or is the club simply preparing for life in league one next season and has already calculated that relegation is inevitable?

I understand why NJ would think this is a good idea, but the reality is that when we had our good run at the start of the season, Apter was playing. Since he’s been out of the team, Bree’s first few games aside, that position hasn’t looked anywhere near as productive.

I don’t think Apter has been given a fair crack of the wick, his crosses and ability to go forward and passed players is very good, tackling isn’t his speciality. Let’s hope we see more of him when he returns.

First of all CA well done for keeping us all updated there were a lot of incoming and outgoings yesterday. I m not keen on any of it tbh big mistake letting AMB go in my honest opinion as for Tanto and Mr Apter I don’t think those 2 will ever play for Charlton again not while NJ is in charge anyway I think that man could have an argument in an empty room throughout is managerial career he is always falling out with somebody. I would say most importantly we need a decent striker one who can actually score like wright phillips, kermorgant hunt or mendonca. Anyway good luck all newcomers COYR

So, who sanctioned the purchases of Apter and Tanto? Who thought they were both Championship ready just 6 months ago?Who thought between them, they were worth £3.5m……If they don’t get game time against Championship opposition, how can you tell?….Apter especially showed his quality throughout August, when he was played in his proper position. He is an attacking winger, not a wing back!!!!! Lets be truthfull,he has been shipped out because he doesn’t fit into NJ’s way of playing. So, will our home grown players that are not ‘Championship ready’ be on their bikes too ? Namely TC, Anderson, and Leaburn, on showings this term.
