Moving on

Talking Point šŸ—£ļø

Hopefully we have all moved on from Saturday. I’ve never been embarrassed to see a Charlton win, not going to start now.

Lucky, fortunate, skittish, fortuitous.. but never embarrassed.

A win is a win, is a win, and all that.

Back at The Valley tomorrow. No new additions, this left wing back is taking its time, but another opportunity in front of our own fans.

I sense there may be some team changes, we have to think TC will play LWB. I wonder if Apter starts at RWB, with Clarke on the bench. Coventry and Carey will start I suspect.

Zach Mitchell returned to the club from Hibernian this week, but he joins the ranks of those who have hardly played a 90-minute game.

In watching on Saturday and games recently what I feel we are really missing is our identity. Early season we had a way of playing that suited us and did not suit our opponents.

What I want to see is a return of the press, actively being first to second balls, aggressive in the tackle, defending the box. These skills are not down to quality, they are down to organization and the will to win. They are much more of a leveller in this division.

Jones’ teams have a habit of being better, stronger and fitter in the second half of the season. That has to start tomorrow.

If you are going tomorrow night, get behind the lads. COYR.

Would never do anything less CA. A smaller crowd but under the lights often creates a good atmosphere. Fingers crossed. I really hate the modern game management but now we are there we need to stay up. End of.

LP Precisely and we need more wins and IMHO any tean up to 11th could be in the mix and whether anyone does not think we are not in a relegation scrap, give your heads a wobble.
Very good debuts from the 2 new boys, and it has all been said

I really do think the presence of Lyndon Dykes and his ability to assist and score goals along side Kellman and Godden will make a difference once he has settled into the side that being said we must get forward and provide a decent service for whoever is playing up front.

Well, Jones could play Apter as a winger but Mr Stubborn will not.

Won’t be a pushover. Derby have a very good away record, and a squad peppered with experience in Championship football.

Charlton men could take a leaf from how Charlton ladies play. They actually run FORWARD with the ball at their FEET. none of this sideways ,backwards nonsense.

Totally agree, plus though they are top of the table unbeaten, they are one of the lowest goal scorers in the league games similar to the mens team. So NJ should maybe take a leaf out of their book, that you can play more attacking and entertaining football in the opposing half and also win by a narrow margin rather than playing mostly in your own half, soak up the pressure and trying to snatch a goal, if you use a different formations with the right players!

I am expecting some changes in the line-up for this evening’s game. Would not be surprised if Lyndon Dykes starts this one. Come on you Addicks!
