Godden set back

People that appear to have knowledge of the situation are suggesting that Matt Godden has had another set back to his knee injury.

Remember, Godden had calcification form on tissue around his knee, this stemming from the original surgery in the summer and still gives him discomfort when he trains. His return has kept getting pushed back.

Whilst doctors are using Godden’s condition as a case study, it is not helping him get back to full fitness. It does sound like more meetings with specialists and investigative work on his knee this month.

We’ll probably never know as Nathan Jones is notoriously vague on player’s injuries, but one thing is for sure it will not likely be December when we see Matt back on the pitch in a Charlton shirt, but some time in the new year. Hopefully.

Godden was brilliant last year. We’ve miss him and I am sure he is going through a lot of mental anguish. At 34, this is an awful time in your career to get an out of the ordinary injury.

He literally sacrificed his knee to get us promoted.
What a player, what a man.
Let’s hope we see him in a Charlton shirt again.

I am not at all surprised at all and originally a minor operation and if that is the case we are going to be relegated and sick and tired of the same other problems CAFC have had since the start of the season.

I’ve long suspected there was more to the Godden injury than ever told. I won’t be surprised if we don’t see him again this season.
This news makes the addition of a striker in January a priority. Unlike NJ I would be happy with a loan, preferably someone with experience rather than some kid from League 1.

It’s a great loss to not to have Godden fully fit and we do miss his brilliant play up front….I sincerely hope he recovers fully and can get back to hitting the onion bag for us again.

I have an old friend who is a Coventry season ticket holder. He says that Coventry fans still idolise Godden and that they will be very worried about the latest news. He has left nothing but good impressions behind him. Fingers crossed we will see him this season!

He really is a great pro. Loved wherever he has been. Really want to see that golf swing celebration again.
