Improvements in The Valley experience
The owners should take a lot of credit for supporting Nathan Jones during the summer and spent money on players like we hadn’t seen for a long time.
However, investment in players, if done right, is buying an asset, unlike investing in a piece of property you don’t actually own, which could be like throwing money down the drain.
Yet, that is what the owners have done by improving the experience at The Valley, an asset that is not theirs to better and improve.
Credit again to them for supporting the enterprise presented to them I am sure by people like Gavin Carter to upgrade and modernize the famous old stadium. That will not have come cheaply.
I have no idea how much the upgrades cost, but the tech upgrade of the big screen and digiboards around the stands can be added to a new pitch, improved state-of-the-art floodlights, an enhanced fan zone, upgraded club shop, the Covered End safe-standing area as well as freshly painted exits and signage.
I have probably missed other improvements too, but the old lady is looking magnificent I have to say, even though some say the techie staff still need to play a bit with the luminescent of the moving advertising boards.
A sparkling stadium environment to support the excitement that is happening on the pitch. Well done again to the owners.

The extra beer outlets at the back of the Curbishley have made it possible to buy one at half time without queuing for 20 minutes.
It’s quite refereshing how the new owners (whoever they are 🙂 ) have gone about their business quietly.
It’s great that they’re taking this initiative, but I think you overlooks one important point. They won’t be doing this purely out of goodwill, and they’re definitely not just “pouring money down the drain.” There will likely be an arrangement with the owner to offset some or all of the costs through the lease. Additionally, by enhancing the facilities, they aim to draw in a larger audience, which should lead to increased spending during each visit. Overall, it’s a positive move.
Louise McGinn the former General Mansager of the women’s team obtained a grant of £750,000 from the FA for the pitch upgrade.
This just goes to show what a little bit of spending on quality players can do not to mention the nurturing of our young talent coming through like fullah and enslin to name a few we are all proud to be addicks again lets all keep looking forward and take every match as it comes.. coyr
Well said CA. A lot of the improvements have gone under the radar but are a credit to the owners who as you point out, don’t yet own the Valley.
I’ve been a supporter for a very, very long time, but there is a buzz of optimism at the games now which is not only down to Nathan and his team but also to the involvement and commitment of the owners. Long May it continue.

The illuminated advertising hoardings will primarily be to raise revenue and they are not fully permanent fixtures
The floodlights would soon have been an enforced upgrade
The handgrabs up the Curbside terracing are a welcome addition but probably an insurance H&S requirement
On this tenant’s repairing lease it will all be funded by the club with no concession from the landlord
All positive signs the club ownership is in for the long haul
Here’s hoping they can now engage South East trains and plod to facilitate sensible access to the station post match
