Carabao Cup draw

A busy day for fixtures.

The 1st Round draw was made for the Carabao Cup this afternoon and we will be at home to Stevenage in a one-off game. The match is due to be played on Tuesday 11th August.

As there are nine Premier league teams in European competitions next season so they get byes into the 3rd Round. Other EPL teams join the 2nd Round but this makes the ‘math’ not add up for the 1st Round draw so a Preliminary Round has been added this year.

The two promoted sides from the National League will meet the two clubs that finished 21st and 22nd in League Two (Barnet, Oldham, Accrington, Newport) in that early round with the winners through to the 1st Round proper.
