Watford at home to open

Watford at home 12.30pm opening day. Then we travel to Bristol City the following Saturday followed by Leicester back at The Valley a week later. The last game of August is a trip to Loftus Road.

Millwall at home is early (Sept 13th), we travel to The Den on Saturday, January 24th. Hopefully it will be snowing!

In a nice turn of fate we play Pompey at The Valley on December 6th, 33 years and 1 day after our return home.

The Addicks will travel to Carrow Road on Boxing Day to take on Norwich City, which is a bit of a stinker, and we will host Coventry City on New Year’s Day.

Our Easter fixtures are Bristol City to The Valley on Good Friday and Watford away on Easter Monday.

Middlesbrough home and away are both midweek, why do they do that?

Final day we go to south Wales and Swansea.

My first impression was that written down the fixtures didn’t look too unnerving and there looks a decent balance to them.

We also have to remember that Sky Sports will have their wicked way with these kick off times. All those opening games are on Sky.

It’s always interesting to see the new fixtures come out as we look for the where and when of certain games, and to those guys and girls that follow us on the road, it obviously means something extra with regards travelling, but as long as we can collect around the fifty point mark by the end of April, that’ll do me !!! A new era starts soon….great opposition, hopefully bigger support and exciting times ahead….my expectations are to stay in the Championship and build for the future. It will be a roller coaster again but strap yourself in and enjoy the ride ahead.
