Ethan Gailbraith bid turned down
Sky Sports are reporting, so a reliable source, that Leyton Orient have turned down a bid from Charlton of £1.3 million for Ethan Gailbraith.
Gailbraith impressed for the O’s in the last two season’s playing 96 times, scoring 11 goals, with 10 assists.
The 24-year old came through the ranks at Linfield in Northern Ireland before joining the academy at Manchester United. Technically very good, if not a little lightweight, he can play at right back and in midfield.
The O’s obviously feel he is worth more, and will be desperate not to oversee a complete break-up of their team, but Gailbraith will be in the final year of his current contract next season.
If he is to depart East London, then it’s obviously in Leyton Orient’s interest to attempt to start a bidding war. I don’t know what our ceiling is on the bidding, but it is still good to see that our owners are authorizing bids of a million plus.
Nonetheless competing on salaries with fellow Championship clubs whilst trying to stay within a pay structure will probably be tougher than actually meeting fellow club’s valuation for players.

This sounds very much like a controlled leak with the intention of getting one or two other clubs to put a bid in. Realistically Orient have to sell – they can’t afford to let him leave on a free, but £1.3m does seem a tad low for a good player.
Even at the play-off Final Richie Wellens was touting him as being premiership ready which sounded like he knew he had to sell him this summer.
I hope we can improve our offer as he is a player with potential and stood out in the recent play-off game….we can always crowd fund to get him 😀
Serious upgrade on the snake Small if he can be landed
Perhaps they would take Ahadme in PX ……………
£1.5 mill and letting them have ahadme sounds like a good deal to me I’d pay for his cab and the new Blackwall tunnel charge
