Posh game to go ahead

Sounds as if we are a go for next Saturday at Peterborough after much speculation that the game would be called off as part of the international break.

Nathan Jones said yesterday that the deadline had passed for us to ask for the game to be cancelled, but Posh do have until Monday.

It is hard to know but possibly Conor Coventry (Eire) and Thierry Small (Eng U20) are on standby lists, but only Kaheim Dixon has actually been selected. Dixon was chosen by Jamaican manager Steve McLaren, but Karoy Anderson wasn’t.

Therefore any talk of a rest and some time to clear up a few aching bones will not be forthcoming.

It looks to me that only two L1 games have currently been postponed.

No harm though in keeping this steam train rolling, and Addicks have bought every one of the 2,156 tickets made available, the fifth consecutive away game that we have sold out.

At least we have a few days warning and time to work out a Plan B if either or both of Connor Coventry and Thierry Small get called up.

We have Tom McIntyre in the squad as a left sided defender and Karoy Anderson would presumably come into midfield in some capacity, possibly Greg Docherty would play DM, and Karoy will slot in at CM.

Alex Gilbert should have recovered from his illness and we have Luke Berry too – things might be a bit stretched but we have the cover available.

Peterborough will though be without ex-Addick Tayo Eden who scored a worldie and then got sent off for two yellows, the second coming literally seconds before full-time.
