Twinkle

I am in Bermuda this week. A catalogue of meetings interspersed by Christmas drinks, or the other way around, I’m not sure.

The Bermuda weather is about 10 degrees warmer here than it is in Sarasota, but still as humid as ever.

Despite the warmth Bermuda does Christmas well. They over compensate for the lack of snow by putting up more twinkly light bulbs per square mile than anywhere else in the world. They also own the same title for churches and golf courses. I may have made up the first claim to fame.

This is my last travel of the year. Since I was afforded a new job a few months back I travelled every week since other than two. One week was when Hurricane Milton hit, so that didn’t go to plan as we were forced to evacuate, and then I was home for Thanksgiving.

Unfortunately despite Bermuda’s isolated locale, I still managed to follow the Charlton game against Leyton Orient on Tuesday night. Oh my. I hope to put together a couple of thoughts on that soon.

    Sounds good CA

Fulfilling a life long ambition and going to Barbados for a week over New Year…which also spares me from the misery in SE7!!

Hi CA. Nothing to do with Bermuda but I couldn’t wait any longer for your next football post!! Trying to psyche myself up for this afternoon. I know my memory is starting to struggle, and it isn’t helped by one season resembling the next so excuse me if I get muddled. But didn’t we look much better than this at the start of the season with the same players? I really don’t like all this criticism of the players when it is clearly what is going on behind the scenes that is causing the problem (again). I fear for NJ’s sanity – seriously – and think he isn’t well. And who the hell are all these trainers we now have at the Club? Why aren’t they being held to account. When we had 4 strikers on at the end of the last home game they clearly didn’t have a clue what they were supposed to be doing. Its too easy to keep saying the players are rubbish – I don’t believe they are – and unless I was dreaming we saw the beginnings of something hopeful back in August/Sept.

I am feeling quite upset at the thought of this afternoon and the inevitable toxic atmosphere but somehow will make myself sit through it and try to encourage the team and let them know that I don’t actually hate them. A lone voice in the East Stand.

Apologies, been a busy week. Haven’t had the mental or physical capacity to put thoughts into words this week. Give them a big cheer from me this afternoon. COYR.

Don’t apologise CA. Just wanted to share. Wasn’t as bad as I expected so that’s the answer. Expect the very worst. Anyway there comes a point when there isn’t much left to say.

I’m actually at the point where, as disgusting as it is, I want us to lose today. Just so the SMT are forced to act and get jerk-off Jones out of the club.
