Preston play…. no. 56 Zzzzzz
Dion Dublin and Mark Hughes pulled some cracking ties out of the hat this evening apart from about one, our tie away at Preston.
All around us there were some great ties, but for us it’s a very un-romantic away trip to Preston, our first visit to Deepdale since our last season in The Championship.
We haven’t won at Deepdale since 2007 when Zheng Zhi was on the scoresheet. Strangely before that we hadn’t played them for almost 30 years. They are currently the joint longest serving team in the second tier at 10 years.
I guess depending on the impending League One outcomes before that date in early January, we could take a fair few up there for a day out. It’s not too bad of a town and an easy train journey.
And of course Patrick Bauer awaits, although he has played just one league game and one in the EFL Cup this season. It was widely thought he would leave last summer but he stayed to see out the end of his contract.
The tie will be over the weekend of 11th January.

Is any train journey easy in the UK these days? Remember what happened to those who went by train to Huddersfield.
I wish we had tried to sign the BFG what a great player he was for us commitment and passion for the shirt
the team line up tonight looks pretty similar to last Saturdays cup game and Crawley are not doing to well so this should be a easy win shame it’s against a really good goalkeeper who gave a lot in a Charlton shirt hope they give rob time to sort things out
come on Charlton we need a convincing win tonight
