Olympic breakfast
It’s been a bit of a struggle the almost two-week hole in my life between the final of the Euro’s and tomorrow’s Olympic Games Opening Ceremony. I’d rather poke my eyes out than watch a pre-season friendly, I’m not ready for the new football season yet, so I am all geared up for the greatest show on Earth, the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad.
I’ve always loved The Olympics. As a kid I would roll out my Sportac board game and have my very own Olympics every day in front of the telly watching each minute of everything faster, higher and stronger.
My family are all set, the TV schedule is pinned on the wall and of course tomorrow morning we are straight into the swimming heats (you can’t have been on this Blog before not to know how much swimming takes up our lives).
Secretly The Olympics has already started and I was glued to the rugby and handball today. I revere sports like handball, archery, fencing and judo that I have absolutely no clue about and would never watch, but suddenly I can’t take my eyes off, and instantly once every four years become a subject matter expert!
Timings mean we will have some early morning’s watching the events, although American TV networks are adept at showing pictures pretending they are live when they are not really. American’s are fooled anyway.
The four weeks of the Olympics takes us right into the League One football season, blimey what a come down that will be!
Okay, let’s get this show on the road. Light the cauldron Mr President 🔥.
