Alpine retreat
Looks nice does Slovenia. I need to add that to my list. A blend of the Alpine mountains and the Med.
Nathan Jones has been taking his teams to Slovenia since 2017 and the squad are staying at a training camp in Kranjska Gora, which Jones is very familiar with.
Kranjska Gora is in northwestern Slovenia among mountains and glacial lakes and by the looks of it the squad will train in very hot and humid conditions.
Charlton dispatched Dartford in the opening pre-season game 6-1 yesterday and flew out today to Slovenia for a week’s camp and will face Turkish side Goztepe on Saturday, which is open to spectators.
Goztepe were promoted to the Turkish Süper Lig last season.
The seven new signings were on the Ryanair flight this morning, but it will be interesting to see if there remains any future at the club for people like Scott Fraser, Ashley Maynard-Brewer, Harry Isted, Tayo Edun, Zach Mitchell, Lucas Ness and Aaron Henry. I presume they all made the trip.
With three more signings expected, possibly four and remembering Jones has insisted on a smaller group of players to work with, we have to expect plenty of outgoings before the end of August.
Once home Charlton then play away to rivals Crystal Palace and Millwall, which are behind closed doors probably due to police costs. They then travel to Jacko’s Wimbledon before we finish with a home game against Pompey.

No sign of Ness or Leaburn on the club video
I thought I saw a glimpse of Leaburn but he has been at St. Georges. They covered that recently. Was Ness not at Dartford. I know Chuks and AMB weren’t.
Saw Chucks in the video
Was he on crutches 😆
No he was on a bike as it was easier than training 🙂
Then probably off for his lunch and to look round the sites, before getting injured getting out of the whirlpool!
