Chris Solly to return
Chris Solly is returning to the Addicks as an academy coach working with Jason Pearce.
Up until recently Solly was at Ebbsfleet but retired at the end of April. He was coaching there and doing his badges. Solly played 313 games for Charlton.
Nothing on the OS yet, but I suspect the comms team will announce this as part of the attempt to put a positive spin on us selling our best and most popular player to a league rival.

What next..Lyle Taylor replacing May.
Had to laugh at that. Proper Charlton gallows humour.
C’mon, Jones wouldn’t sign him, he scores too many goals.
Great to hear that Chris has returned and his knowledge and experience will help the academy squad and Jason.
What’s it all about Alfie ?…sang Cilla !!!
Solly coming back = good.
May being sold off = C***ish
Has Jones ever signed a decent striker, I don’t think he did at Stoke or Southampton? Maybe at Luton?
The team will need to start well next season or the knives will be out.
His decision to walk out on the club in 2020 still rankles, ok there was some animosity between him and Lee Bowyer, but we were facing relegation and even if he wasn’t going to be a regular starting player he should still have been around the squad. Possibly there was some other stuff going on that we don’t know about and I assume this has been covered in any interviews he’s had.
That still rankles with me also. Maybe we get to hear more about it, maybe we don’t, but Jason Pearce would have been the captain in those days and it would seem that he is happy to work with him again.
