Lloyd Jones’ injection
The conspiracy theorists, and I live in America and have got to meet a fair few, would say that Lloyd Jones’ apparent kidnapping after having an injection almost a month ago might be more to do with his new boss finding out about this.
Love Undercover is it says in one marketing blurb a “modern-day fairytale that will tell the story of five soccer players on an epic journey filled with love, drama, heartbreak and self-discovery,” according to the NBC Peacock’s official synopsis. In order to find love without price tags, “the men must leave their lavish lives behind and take on secret identities to date several single women in Los Angeles, who don’t know of their fame overseas.”
Jones, who has done a bit of modeling in his time perhaps when he was lavishly on loan at Accrington Stanley, has been about the only defensive player that has impressed this season after his summer move from Cambridge on July 1st.
The show was filmed last summer, and I trust before pre-season, but I don’t get the feeling that his name sake and his boss may feel the same as someone like Dean Holden, who has lived much more in the public eye, especially with his wife a long-time TV staple.
We’ll see but that injection sure took it out of the lad, hopefully he had more stamina when out in Los Angeles. The show starts on May 9th

Ohhhhh dear….Loydd hang your head in shame, what the F*** made you decide to take part in this very very sad series ???
OK I’m getting on in years but why ????….it does you no favours but I expect the money was a factor….
Nathan must be shaking his head in disbelief and does the club no favours.
The only decent defender we had this year and have stated before we need a whole new back 5 and a decent GK
A bit of fun and why not? This isn’t for me and I expect he’ll be getting a lot of grief from his team mates when it goes live.
Footballers careers are short and are often injury ravaged so I don’t blame him for taking a bit of cash when it’s offered to him. I don’t see how it impacts on his playing career or time at Charlton.
Agree with some of what you say….I expect players will give him grief and no doubt opposition fans….but hey what the heck if he plays well.
Well down the 60 or so years as an “Addick” I’ve witnessed the reverse at times with people pretending to be footballers, I remember the series “Carry on Belgium” now that proved a bit of an uproar, Lloyd’s a nice boy, so what.
Produced and directed by Roland Duchelet ? 🤔
Agree Daniel. Carry on up the Tintin was not our finest hour. Good luck to Lloyd, I hope we see him back in the team before the end of the season.
