Nathan Jones appointed as new ‘manager’
“I am extremely excited by the challenge in front of me at Charlton. It is a club that I have fond memories of from my time here and I want to play my part in moving the club forward.
“I have been approached by a number of clubs to get back into management but I have been waiting for the right opportunity. From my conversations with the Board and given the long-term nature of the contract, I can see there is a real appetite to build something here which I am really looking forward to being a part of.”
Nathan Jones has been appointed as the club’s new manager, not first team coach and has been awarded a “long-term contract.” Jones did his best work when allowed to oversee certain elements of a football club. This change looks to have put Andy Scott back in his box.
Jones is certainly a club builder, but he also needs to be a quick impact manager as well looking at out current worrying situation.
Welcome back to The Valley Nathan, you know how special this club can be, please do everything you can to bring some happier times back.

I’m not as convinced that he’s the right man, as many others are.
However, who else would want the job?
I hope I’m wrong and I wish him well. He needs to get this miss-firing mob winning, quick. We are in the sh*t.
I am sure loads of people would want it, but whether they’d be any good or not…. I mean I’d do it in my spare time for a small fee 😀
Highly regarded coach who after leaving us was assistant manager at Brighton, got two promotions at Luton playing some attacking football. Counterbalanced by two failures at Southampton and Stoke – but both clubs were in trouble when he arrived.
The long-lead time from negotiations onward suggest that he wants to do things his way and bring in his staff and methods.
Thats a bit worrying, both clubs were in trouble when he arrived! 🙂
Manager number 20 since Curbs and I’ve a positive felling about Nathan…no nonsense manager who has shown he can transform Luton .
He’s a Charlton family member and I’d like to think he knows our history and will engage with the fans.
He has a massive job ahead to avoid relegation and to aim for promotion next season.
Welcome back to Charlton Nathan and full steam ahead !!!
James Rodwell wants Jones to help take Charlton to the next level. I’m just hoping that the next level isn’t League 2.
This is the first managerial appointment that we have made in a long time that has actually got me excited. Reading what Luton fans have been saying about him, looking at the parallels between the two clubs(at the point Jones took on the jobs), has got me daring to dream about our future! You know what they say about the hope killing you…
Wake up Jon. Don’t do it 😁
