Kayne Ramsay signs from Harrogate on deadline day

Right back or wing back is an area we have really struggled with in recent season’s, so now we have another one.

23-year old Kayne Ramsay was the solitary addition to the Addicks’ squad on transfer deadline day. He signed on a permanent deal from Harrogate for what their manager Simon Weaver described as “a significant fee, a very good sum of money.”

I hadn’t heard of him, but he sounds like a good prospect, is a good age too, and after being content to grow his career around the country he has returned to London where he was born.

He began at Chelsea but came through Southampton’s academy and has played 50 games for Harrogate, who are fighting above their weight in L2. Plus, he is match ready.

Going out today was Conor McGrandles, who re-signed on loan for Lincoln City. McGrandles has played 12 league games in two seasons for Charlton and still has a contract until 2025.

At least we have now got rid of two waste of spaces Frasier & McGrandles, though only on loan, as they will probably be shipped back to us at the end of this season for Charlton to pay the last year of their contracts, which end in 2025 along with three games a year Aneke!
What muppet signed these two and also gave them long contracts, I believe Garner signed McGrandles, can’t recall who signed Frasier?

Lets hope this latest addition, is not another one and can actually defend at right back.

I live in Harrogate been to see them play a few times this season. He’s a good strong solid defender and looks dangerous going forward. The Harrogate Town fans were chanting his name…

When I started going to Harrogate Town they were in the National League North, now they are in one league below Charlton and pushing for the play offs. I’m pleased that Harrogate are doing well but it is sad how far Charlton have fallen. I was reading an article a couple of weeks ago and it was about the downfall of Charlton. 20 years ago we were 4th in the Premier League, just before we sold Scott Parker.

Maybe getting shot of Scott Frasier will work in reverse and now be the upturn of Charlton! 🙂

Given this last minute left sided curved ball and the return of Abankwah to parent club Udinese I do wonder if the soon to appointed manager had anything to do with this given the connection, rather than any wondrous insight from Andy Scott ?

      Apparently Jones recommended Kayne Ramsay.

Yep thought that was the case and now we have another ex Southampton boy in Thierry Small …… the salvation begins 😊
