Goalkeeper Lewis Ward signs

I thought this one had died. Certainly the current head coach didn’t seem aware any signings were close during his gruelling presser this morning.

However Lewis Ward, who had his Swindon contract cancelled last week, has now signed for Charlton on loan, with the club option of a further year in the summer.

Harry Isted appears to be back to full fitness so Ward who has played 167 games in a 10-year career will I guess be 3rd choice keeper. He appeared liked by fabs, and treated quite shabbily at Swindon, but unless Isted or AMB are to be jettisoned I find it hard to see how often he will play for the 1st team.

However, he’s a big lad, 6ft 5 in, and he also worked with Swindon’s development squad. He also has a degree in sports journalism…. he could do no worse than our current media outfit.
