Tennai Watson kicks off deadline day

Utility full back and free agent Tennai Watson has signed a permanent 2-year deal,

After Fankaty Dabo failed to pass another medical the Addicks turned their attention to Watson who left MK Dons in the summer.

The question is whether Watson is match fit, I suspect he is not, but he did play a large chunk of every game for MK Dons in the second part of last season.

He came through Reading’s academy and also appeared on loan for Coventry and AFC Wimbledon. The 26-year old has only started 70 league games in his career.

Welcome Tennai, who does at least add much needed competition to the full back position, whether he will be utilized as a wing back will depend I guess on which way we go forward formation wise.

Pretty underwhelming, but par for the course for a Charlton Athletic transfer window last day. A 26 year old who has only played 70 competitive league games in his career. As you say, probably not match fit either, and of course, we didn’t have to pay any money for him. I guess the queue for his signature wasn’t very long !!!
My prediction of one ‘free’ and three ‘loan’ incomings on the final day is up and running !!
