Update with no update
Another update about having no update today by current CEO Peter Storrie.
It does sound like this takeover is a long way from being finalized, and who’s hand is at the wheel and in who’s pocket it is in when it comes to transfer activity is very mystifying.
As is the potential signing of Allie May. I really cannot see the club spending any monies on fees working instead in the free and loan market. There will be wages available, and we were told that the budget was increased.
Holden does appear to be in charge of selecting players, which I’m pretty sure he wasn’t in January. Holden has made a decision also to sell Joe Wollacott. Any fee could be used for incomings. I feel a little sorry for Joe, who did nothing wrong except get injured and what was looking like a promising season for the keeper ended in World Cup dreams shattered, a long lay off and then a sore bum from sitting on the bench.
You have to think the club would also listen to offers, if there are any, for Charlie Kirk and Sam Lavelle. Possibly Holden will give pre-season opportunities to Conor McGrandles and Diallang Jaiyesimi.
Albie Morgan has signed for Blackpool on a 3-year deal, with an optional extra year, which sounds like a no-brainer for the 23-year old. Ryan Inniss has signed for Duncan Ferguson at Forest Green Rovers.
One interesting piece of transfer gossip involves Steve Gallen, who is still being championed as the Addicks key transfer negotiator. Gallen is currently being linked with the role of Director of Football at QPR following the departure of Les Ferdinand.

Hi CA
Alfie May will ours….watch this space….I’m reliably informed.
Players are back for pre-season trialing this week.
I understand that the Valley pitch is in great shape after being renovated and big well done to the groundsman and the team.
It will have its first game on it when we play Aberdeen in a pre-season match.
I wish both Albie and Ryan all the best in their new clubs….I know that Albie will want to put one over us when we play Blackpool.
Ryan will do well at FGR under Duncan.
Frankly glad that Wollacott may be sold as I don’t think either Maynard Brewer or Wollacott are good enough to be our number one, we need to recruit somebody who can command the six yard box.
Morgan has got a good move, which gives him a fresh start. He never kicked on from his very promising start in the promotion season. Bowyer’s constant criticism in the following season seemed counter productive and the loan at Ebbsfleet was a poor decision.
Inniss is lucky to get a new club as his record of suspensions and injury is not good enough.
I wonder how much Storrie is getting paid for saying nothing ?
Can I have that job?
What you have said is so right CA the takeover is going to take time to go through so who is going to pay the fees for new players
I think another season of loan players and freebie’s looks like a given
I like Dean Holden as our manager and I hope he stays and hopefully he can build a new squad in the January transfer window so a top 6 finish doesn’t look likely
