Taking coals to Coalville

The former coal mining town of Coalville Town in Leicestershire will visit the Addicks for the FA Cup 1st Round proper on the weekend of November 4-7th.
The Coalville players enjoyed their name coming out of that hat against us, and I only hope for their sakes the draw entices home fans out of their homes and to the game.
I think the FA dictate pricing to some degree, but let’s hope Thomas Sandgaard helps a potential lucrative cup run by pricing this game enticingly for both sets of supporters so at least there will some kind of atmosphere.
Coalville average around 400 at home, but took 1,400 to Notts County in the last round.
The Ravens play in the Southern League Central Premier Division, one below Welling United.
This tie may be exciting for Coalville, but is hardly a thrill for us. If TS wants Charlton fans to turn up he needs to set the price at absolutely no more than a tenner.
Daggs,
Its my understanding that in these games the revenues are shared between both clubs. If expected attendance is small, I don’t think these revenues will do much to balance the books for CAFC this season or much for the present deficit. Maybe a good gesture would be to give whole amount to Coalville, they would welcome the financial support.
Have to agree….give all money made to Coalville, a great gesture as they deserve it !!
I just hope the fa cup game isn’t televised
Agree….could be as TV are always looking for a giant killer result…
A real test for our players and I guarantee that we will be tested against Coalville…never never underestimate lower league players as it will motivate them to play at The Valley !!!
