Stanley!

The Addicks’ first game of the season will be away at Accrington Stanley. The 5,450 capacity Wham Stadium will welcome Ben Garner’s new look team on Saturday 30th July.
Next up is Derby County at The Valley, possibly a good time to play them with or without Wayne Rooney. Sheffield Wednesday follows and August looks tough, but we have to play everyone twice whatever.
During the World Cup we have Cheltenham at home, Morecambe away and Bristol Rovers at The Valley the day before the final. Boxing Day we host Peterborough. Pompey away is on New Year’s Day and we travel to Forest Green Rovers on a Valentine’s Tuesday.
We are at away at Bristol Rovers on Good Friday, and at home to Burton Albion on Easter Monday. Then we wrap up with a trip to Cheltenham on the final day.
An initial observation is that there are a lot of back to back home and away games, and on consecutive Saturday’s. Whatever happened to home, away, home, away?
