Millwall comeback

Always worth celebrating a victory over the auld enemy.

That lot and the Croydon lot may have been schlepping it out to see who was the best runner-up in the competition for South London’s finest on Saturday, but today the Toolbox saw the Red Army invade and come away with a very rare three points.

Our U23’s and Millwall’s were contesting a Professional Development League 2 game this afternoon and in a surprise to absolutely nobody The Lions were 2-0 up within 36 minutes.

With 15 minutes to go Aaron Henry scored a penalty then three minutes later smacked in a free kick 22-yards out to draw us level.

Happy with a point? Not Euan Williams who sent Daniel Kanu away to score the winner all in the space of 11 minutes. Have it!

In other good news Sam Lavelle played 45 minutes in his first game since groin surgery in October.

A good day all around.

Courtesy of Charlton TV I was able to watch this from the comfort of my office yesterday, thoroughly enjoyed it. We played some very good football, they look well drilled and coached. I feel we can look forward to seeing some more very good youngsters appearing in the first team over the next season or two.

Henry is a demon with the dead ball, Kanu looks lively and there are signs that the Avery powered pipeline of quality just isn’t stopping…

Lavell back is good news, as we’ll need him when Inniss breaks down again, and he was forming a pretty good partnership with Famewo

Maybe Henry can show Elliot how to hit and cross a dead ball! 🙂

A game of two halves. Gave away 2 soft goals in the first half but a great reaction in the second half. Performances in the second half seem to be par for the course having recently beaten Reading 5-0 after drawing 0-0 at half time.
CAFC’s poor communication team have Saturday’s U18 result as Watford winning 6-0 whereas CAFC won 6-0, it really is pathetic.
