Boxing Day game called off

The Addicks’ Boxing Day clash at Wimbledon, the nearest we get to a derby these days, has been postponed due to Covid.
Sparrows Lane was closed earlier in the week due to new cases, although even yesterday Charlton were selling additional tickets for Sunday’s game, and Jacko was hopeful that Akin Famewo, Conor Washington and Josh Davison could all return after 7 days of isolation and no symptoms.
However today the club notified the FA that it does not have sufficient players in the squad to fulfil the fixture. The away end had long been sold out.
7 games in League One are off, 21 in the EFL overall plus two in the Premier League have been called off thus far as Covid cases escalate.
A real shame as Boxing Day is such a feature in fans’ fixture list, but it makes no sense for us to send out a patched up team.
Meanwhile tickets have gone on sale for the FA Cup game against Norwich City. The prices look good, but why are they shutting the Covered End upper?
UPDATE: Club announce they will open the Upper tier of the Covered End for the Norwich game.
