The difference between money and power

I wonder how much those six Premier League clubs pay their marketing and communications people? Because they will be worth every penny as the owners of Manchester United, Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham will need every ounce of PR these next days, weeks and months.
A farcical and chaotic couple of days ended when City and Chelsea were first to withdraw their commitment to the European Super League, with the other four English clubs soon following suit with short public statements, only Arsenal actually offering an apology although it looks as if the PR guy had gone home and the cleaner wrote it.
Without one tiny consideration to their fans, manager, players, community and history these faceless, narcissitic owners have been embarrased into reversing their decision based soley on greed by the unilateral and universal feelings of just about everyone.
Contrived by rich old Americans, these six men are back in the shadows tonight, but they should however never be forgotten:
Joel Glaser
John Henry
Sheikh Mansour
Roman Abramovich
Stan Kroenke
Daniel Levy
I suspect players and managers will soon get back to their day jobs, but I hope their moral compass has been raised, and their dignity dented. These six men tried to kill our game, our nations’ game. Let’s never forget that because if we turn our backs, then we know what will happen.
They may have the money, but the power is with us, the common fan. Charlton fans have always known that, but now everyone should feel empowered.
Oh and while we have everyone’s attention, maybe the pundits and politicians and regulators can address some of the other game’s big problems – rascism, the disparty in wealth down this wonderful pyramid everyone is talking about, the cost of going to games and dodgy owners.
Amen CA
Very well said
I’m just saddened that the 6 clubs involved will no doubt come out of this without any form of punishment. Personally I feel some form of European ban imposed by EUFA and a significant financial penalty imposed by the Premier League, might just make then think again in the future…….or maybe not!!!!
I wonder if any of the dirty 6, resigned their premier league places before the announcement?
