Steve Clarke RIP

Awful news yesterday of the passing of Charlton fan Steve Clarke. Steve was at the core of attempting to right every wrong that was thrown at the club he had loved for almost 60 years from the Valley Party right up this very moment.

Absolutely tragic that he won’t be able to witness the club on a much stabler footing. Steve was more than a fan, always giving, always willing to push back. Intelligent, charming and smart. If he spoke you listened. If he wrote a comment on Twitter, you read it.

This has been a dreadful year, and we’ve so many many legendary supporters from the Charlton family.

I hope at least upstairs in the top tier Steve has a directors box comfy seat to watch the next chapter of the club he loved.

My sincere condolences and thoughts to his family and friends.

There’s a lovely tribute to him on the CAST site from those that knew him better than most. Please read it.

RIP Steve.

I read the piece about Steve, a sad loss. Near the end it mentions others that have passed recently, one of whom is “Jean”
Can anyone tell me who that is please? I met a Jean several times at Charlton events, surname possibly Huellin, and one of the kindest, loveliest women on this Earth Please can someone tell me it wasn’t her who passed.

    • John – it wasn’t that Jean. It was Jean King I believe
