Sky have taken a shine to us

Little old Charlton appear to have a new fan. Sky Sports today announced that three more of our games will be live on the box. The Hull home game has moved back from Saturday, December 14th to the Friday night, three days after we play Huddersfield.
Then over Christmas and New Year Sky have chosen the Derby and Swansea away games to show as well. This well and truly mucks around with Addicks plans if they were intending on going, and will I am sure damage travelling numbers which have been magnificent so far this season.
The post-Christmas game against Derby County at Pride Park, originally scheduled on the afternoon of Sunday, December 29th, sure to attract a good turnout, will now kick-off on Monday evening, a work day.
Then Charlton’s trip to Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium a few days later set to take place on New Year’s Day, a Wednesday, has now moved to Thursday, January 2nd at 7.45pm. Try getting back from the south coast of Wales at 10pm!
The FA Cup 3rd Round is the next weekend, so assume we will play either Sunday or more likely Monday.
These three are added to the next three home games that are all televised – Preston, Sheffield Wednesday and Cardiff.
Leeds used to complain that they were being diddled by the TV money as they were on TV more than some Premier League teams. We’ll be joining them next.
So for the sake of our players and the fans we can’t so no because …..? Oh yes. Let me think. Both the holiday ones are ridiculous. I hate sky nearly as much as belgian owners.
