Ay, what?

You know in 20 years time 3,000 Addicks will be claiming they were at the Lamex last night as Charlton claimed their largest ever win. A record that has stood since 1953.

Stevenage made a load of changes and fielded a youthful team, but then again so did we as Taylor Maloney, George Lapslie and Toby Stevenson starred. 18-year old Stevenson was making his debut at left wing back, and became the first ever Addicks’ debutant to score a hat-trick. A night he will never forget as will the couple of hundred Addicks present.

Who said we don’t have any squad depth? Okay, it was Stevenage’s reserves and not Barnsley, but still take nothing away from a barnstorming and imperious display underlying again what a fantastic job Steve Avory does.

I’m not going to take away from a record victory but the win was important from a squad confidence point of view as well as showing that Darren Pratley can be very useful as a central part of a back three. Recently ostracized Mark Marshall played very well at right back apparently and both Igor and Ajose got on the score-sheet.

A nice little run out.
