Accrington Stanley 1 Charlton Athletic 1
I woke up in a Las Vegas hotel with a hangover but fortunately no tiger strolling around the room just the dulcet tones of those chaps on Charlton Live.
A draw at Accrington. Whoppee. Or two mid table sides slogging it out in a scrappy match. Sounded as if Stanley thoroughly deserved their point as for the third time in three games we got pegged back after taking a lead.
Grant’s header gave us the lead, he also hit the post but we can’t be accused of missing chances and not putting the game to bed as we really didn’t have many chances. Grant sounded the liveliest and Lapslie the busiest, but Bowyer has nothing on the bench to change it, just Marshall who I’m yet to be convinced about.
Krystian Bielik made his debut as Bowyer played three at the back, but I don’t think Solly is a wing back anymore, if he ever was, but we did at least manage to fill the seats on the bench.
A point at Accrington Stanley. It is what it is.
Addicks at Wham Stadium: Louis Mendez.
Bow: “It wasn’t good enough. We missed too many chances and a point just isn’t good enough. The decision-making at times was horrendous and that’s what it boils down to, it isn’t good enough.”
Elsewhere: Our next opponents Peterborough are going from strength to strength dispatching Luton 3-1. Pompey also have a 100% record and beat Oxford 4-1. The U’s are bottom and have conceded 10 in 3. Southend best Bradford 2-0, Wimbledon held Barnsley 0-0 and Burton got their first points beating Doncaster 1-0.
