Pearce out for 10 weeks
I read that we missed a leader on the pitch last night. Solly, for all of his qualities, is a quiet captain, and Pearce always comes across as a far more visible and audible influence.
Pearce was seen on crutches at The Valley Saturday afternoon and has been diagnosed with knee ligament damage. It’s a huge blow, particularly as we seem unable to keep a clean sheet at the moment. At least within Robinson’s skinny squad he does have good options at centre-back. Konsa, who played last night, will be expected to continue in his preferred role.
Pearce will be missed not only as a leader, but also as a talisman. Last season Pearce missed 23 games through injury and we only won 4 of them.
Get well soon Jason.
