Sarr next out of door

I’ve just finished watching the France v Switzerland game, where a burst ball and torn shirts was the highlight of the proceedings, but if Charlton fans needed a spark to encourage a sweet dream tonight I bring news that Naby Sarr have been sent out on a season-long loan to French Ligue 2 side Red Star Belgrade.

Next time Ms Meire bangs on about how much her mentor has invested in the club, think about that £1.4m wisely spent.

In other devastating news assistant coach Wim de Corte has also left the club. How we will cope without interim Wim I dread to think. Anyway Russell Slade looks to already be putting his mark on things.

I’m enjoying the Euro’s, although some of the games have been a little sterile. Although I’ve just watched large chunks of Albania beating Romania which outshone the France v Switzerland game. Hopefully England will go out to beat Slovakia tomorrow. Albania are possible opponents for England in the 2nd Round when knockout football should bring more exciting games.

I’ve been back in the UK since Friday morning. I normally sleep pretty well on planes but didn’t do on Thursday night so grabbed a couple hours in the Yotel at Gatwick, which if you know it, is perfect to crash and get a shower for a couple of hours after a long flight.

Friday night I drunk more beer than I have for many a while with mates in Bexley Village, which made for a long day yesterday but it was spent with family in Eastbourne for an early Father’s Day, which was very nice albeit I undercooked the winter clothes. Freezing down there it was. Another nice but quieter day with family today and tomorrow I’m up to the City to meet some mates and to watch the football.

I’m heart-broken to see Naby go….. now I’ll have to find someone else to compare with the turning speed of the Woolwich Ferry – with Naby my money was on the Ferry every time…!!

Another one of the Dynamic Duo’s WonderFlops then…. and another wodge of the club’s money thrown down the drain on a player whom most football-savvy people would have sussed out as duff from the word go – but of course Duchatelet/Meire know far more about how to run a club and successful players than any of the 16000 regular attendees at the Valley….
