Orlando blooms

I arrived in Orlando today, a city that for us recently has been all about Mickey and friends, but I am here for work this week as it is this year’s venue for our annual Symposium. We outgrew the hotel we have used for the past few years in South Beach, which has been a bitter pill to swallow as the extra curricular activities of Miami were always a nice distraction to days spent in large conference rooms with no windows and the air-con jacked up to the highest setting.

This hotel in Orlando is gigantic and between this and the one it is linked to across the road, I don’t expect to actually get off the premises until I drive out to meet a client for dinner on Wednesday night. My daughter expecting me to send her picture of me stood next to Goofy may well end up disappointed.

Work has been extraordinarily testing since the turn of the year, with many unexpected events unfolding and although planning our trip this week has been a nightmare that has caused many sleepless nights it is one of my favourite work weeks of the year, so I am looking forward to immersing myself into it with back to back to meetings starting this afternoon through to Wednesday night.
