2015 Top Five Favourite Restaurants

A man has to eat, and I love to. Eating out for me remains an experience, and in our house we have over 50 signed menus framed hanging on walls.

A restaurant experience is not only about the food, but it is the occasion and the memories. These were my 2015 Top Five Favourite Restaurants

1) Cipriani, New York
I was here on a sunny autumn Friday afternoon with a mate. This hangout is well known for it’s people watching and we wondered what all these beautiful people did that allowed them to laze away a Friday afternoon eating delicious Venetian pasta dishes. Mind you, they may have said the same about us.

2) Salt, Amelia Island, Florida
The food was excellent at this hotel restaurant in north Florida. Here for my other half’s birthday in May the staff made just enough fuss of her, and the tasting menu was excellent.

image3) Water Grill, Santa Monica, California
Here for lunch with a client in October. The Water Grill is situated right on the Pacific Ocean in Santa Monica. Giant windows open onto the street, across which you can see the ocean and inside there is a fantastic bar. The menu is seafood orienatated and there is a wonderful raw bar.

4) Brick Tops, Palm Beach, Florida
The family and I were here in February and we loved it. The food was top notch and had great variety for kids. Brooke Shields sat across at the next table but I don’t think she recognised me!

5) Jiko, Orlando
A huge surprise this. Jiko is a hotel within Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. The restaurant is African themed and the menu was incredible and I was amazed how good the food was. I would definitely recommend.

I’m an extremely beautiful person but have to make do with the Harvester, Horse and Groom, Sidcup!
Where did I go wrong? What do you do that allows you to laze around eating delicious Venetian pasta of a Friday afternoon? Genuinely interested.

Owen, that day I travelled back from a railroad conference in Washington DC. Being an Addick I have always had a thing for trains. Most other days I deal in the risk business.
