Oh, Alou

Good news. Alou Diarra has put pen to paper on an extended deal of at least a further season, maybe two. The Frenchman has impressed since he arrived in February. Proper shame his new contract wasn’t on the back of the winning goal at The Den. However, move on we must.

Diarra was the last of the four players signed under Luzon’s watch. Lepoint has a contract for a month of Sunday’s but I maybe right that Roger Johnson and Chris Eagles have more to prove.

Luzon had previously suggested that the club will wait until the end of the season to consider player contracts, but I am happy that they are acting now. Like our end of season, the summer needs to be one of stability and steady improvement without the need for wild emotional swings. Who am I kidding?

Anyway onto tonight and hopefully Addicks’ will see a reaction as we face Fulham in the last game under lights at The Valley this season.

Yiu are right both Eagles and Johnson still have a lot to prove.
I am n ot wild about either of them, but Johnson is the most dangerous as his general fragility and skill levels can and have) leave/left us really exposed at the back.
