Luzon appointed
Well, well, well, who would have thought it!
24 hours after the club said they were in the process of searching for the right appointment, after a night at the Bexleyheath Marriott, Guy Luzon shows up at The Valley with his suitcase as shown on Sky Sports for the shortest of short interviews, and is appointed as Charlton Athletic’s new head coach
“I think the appointment of Guy Luzon will prove to be a very good one for the club.” – Roland Duchâtelet (more)
What a joke!

I do wonder about KM’s position…….
I think the statement was very misleading to supporters.
There was no process, at least be honest
LIARS & taking us all for mugs !!
Disgusted! I want my club back! 4 managers in less than 12 months. Roland, you’re clueless!
I agree with Ken from Bexley – either Katrien was being deliberately economical with the truth yesterday or she was completely marginalised during the appointment of Luzon. Either way, she comes out of it very poorly and should, perhaps, be considering her position.
Yes, but she’s on the payroll, part of the network, Roly’s eyes and ears.
Guess we will have to wait and see what happens. RD was never going to appoint someone not from the network. No doubt GL was already primed on Sunday when Bob got the bullet. Interesting to see what happens with Buyens and Bulot who allegedly fell out with GL while he was coach at Standard Liege. We are not the only club to have had a number of managers in the last 12 months. Big game on Saturday!!
I think its about time we stood up to all this now. show the muppets running our club with their puppets (and I massively include Richard Murray! ) what we at charlton are all about, we got the valley back so anything is possible. Any ideas ?
I think CAFC fans are more likely to protest with their feet than riot. There will be a lot of Addicks at Watford on Saturday. It will be an interesting atmosphere.
Richard Murray at the very least needs to say something. I agree.
I feel an uprising coming on!
Process? Procession, more like.
We have seen some pretty dumb things these past years but this may take the waffle! And to pretend about the long extensive search just shows how stupid and dumb they think we are. Not least the circumstances of his gardening leave from the mother pram shows how much RD plays with his toys.
He has little chance now and even less if he does not get supported in the transfer window. And pray how will he know who and what to buy?
A sad day for all Charlton supporters as we can clearly see what this club means to him. And in short not a lot!
Well said CAA. This man is fundamentally trying to change our club. Owners, CEO’s, Managers, Coaches and Players come and go, but what is always left is dear old Charlton Athletic formed by some teenagers as a community group in 1905. Duchatelet is trying to change that.
Agreed! We all understand that today it is a business. And times have changed but to make his investment really pay off by a multiple of 20+ is to get back to the Premier. And the reality is that it would not have cost a lot if you compare to the top teams. We were not that far away. It makes you question under what circumstances would he invest say 10 million but his style is to run it as cheaply as possible and that sadly means relegation or an annual fight.
I like most supporters will support anything if we believe the owners are doing their best. But right now there is not one of us that trust any words out of his mouth or the sidekick who I pity.
We have to remember the man is a politician, “failed” it’s true, but the methods don’t die and the pretence at consultation and process is manifested weekly by all modern governments. Sitting in his castle, RD may even be surprised that there is such concern among the plebs but he’s knows he’s right even when he’s wrong and he will go on with his Luzon game. Ugh!
