Yoni Buyens signs
Combative deep lying midfielder Yoni Buyens has unofficially signed for the Addicks from the mothership Standard Liege for a season. It is said the contract is just for a year, and I make the assumption that he will be on loan.
Buyens comes with a good reputation after three seasons at Standard, playing 85 times in the past 3 seasons, scoring 12 goals. Buyens began his career at SK Lierse moving to KV Mechelen in 2009.
Buyens played less under Guy Luzon at Standard last season and it is thought that Roland Duchâtelet did not want one of his assets languishing in the reserves. Buyens was once valued at £2m.
Astrit Ajdarevic tweeted “Charlton have signed a very good player, a true proffesional and a very nice man in Yoni Buyens. All the best.” Astrit knows what it takes and is a good endorsement.
