Charlton Athletic 3 Brighton & Hove Albion 2

Santa well and truly delivered this afternoon at The Valley presenting all Addicks with a fantastic 3 points wrapped in a big bow. I couldn’t make it being on a family walk in South Oxfordshire at the time with the Thames as company and my Blackberry toiling to keep a signal as I followed the goings on in South East London.

Brighton will always dominate possession and their brand of football has been very rewarding on the road this season, but long suffering Addicks at The Valley will cherish this memorable Boxing Day victory.

Lawrie Wilson scored twice, who I think has had a fine season, unlike some disingenuous Charlton fans it seems, filling in for Chris Solly and more recently occupying a more attacking role. Then we had a long overdue Yann classic free kick to seal the 3 points after falling behind to a Leonardo Ulloa goal, who then gave us the customary nervy finale by getting a second.

It was a great win and hopefully it wasn’t just for Christmas. Come on you reds!
