Watford 1 Charlton Athletic 1

A very good point today at Vicarage Road. My efforts from my Miami hotel room to pick up CAFC Player were thwarted again, so I had to content myself with Twitter which did a fine job as I followed the ‘action’ whilst purveying the ‘scenery’ at the hotel pool.

As I expected it was a good attacking game, and we most definitely played our part, We had to be at our best defensively to hang on at the end but it sounded a most deserving point and one that was cheered to the rafters by the travelling Addicks.

Bradley Prichard came out of the game again with many plaudits and the display was reminiscent of many of our dogged away games from last season. It also sounded as if Richard Wood played his part and Lawrie Wilson again revelled as right wing back and it was of course great to see Yann thunder that penalty home and hopefully his ankle knock wasn’t serious.

So, part one of a big week ticked. Up to Yorkshire on Tuesday.

Powell-ometer: CP stuck with the 3-5-2 and interchanged Wood for Cort seamlessly. Powell has reinstilled that hunger that we have become used to as we go into a big week.
Elsewhere: Millwall were humiliated by Derby at The Den, Blackpool stay top by winning at Bournemouth and Burnley and Blackburn shared the spoils in the Lancashire derby. QPR got another 1-0 win, this time over Birmingham, Darius Henderson netted a late winner as Nottingham Forest overcame Barnsley and Yeovil grabbed a point at Hillsborough. Liam Moore scored for Leicester City as they secured a deserved win over Wigan Athletic and David McGoldrick scored twice as Ipswich beat Middlesbrough. Doncaster held Huddersfield to a goalless draw and Bolton lost at home to Leeds with Luke Varney scoring.
