Happy New Year!

After 10 days of burdening friends with a car full of suitcases and overstuffed bags, 2 kids, my insatiable appetite for cold turkey and pickle sandwiches and a thirst for red wine we decided to spend our last night of our Christmas trip in a hotel and have booked ourselves into the very lovely Coworth Park in Ascot.

Whilst 2012 was a year to be proud of being British (and a Charlton fan), 2013 will mark for me 10-years of being away from the country.

Whilst Bermuda is still in our tea-leaves for the near future, the island is encountering many issues, mostly of a fiscal nature, which makes it no different to anywhere else in the world but living there is hard to knock, although as my other-half will tell you I tend to knock it frequently.

Nonetheless we are very fortunate to experience living in Bermuda, it’s beauty, the balance between work and family, and the ease in which I can nip back to London to see loved and missed family, friends and the boys from SE7.

I do have a little announcement to make, in that myself and the very-patient-other-half got engaged a couple of weeks ago, so the champagne will taste a little bit more sparkly tonight.

I hope that wherever you are tonight you too are able to raise a glass for the new year, whether it’s a new paragraph or simply the next page.

I’d like to thank you all for continuing to take time out of your busy lives to stop by to read Chicago Addick and especially comment because sometimes it can be a lonely place and more than sometimes it can be a labour of love.
