My 12 days of Christmas

From East Sussex to the The Royal County of Berkshire today to see two really old friends of mine. Really looking forward to seeing them and another change of scene (and bed) before we head back to Bermuda on New Years Day.

They live in a very quaint and picturesque part of Ascot, although the rest of it is hardly shabby, between notable golf courses and the famous Ascot Racecourse, which will remind me how much I miss a day at the Races. The only horse racing we have in Bermuda, and I’ve never been, is harness racing.

According to Google Maps Ascot is about a 2-hour car ride from my parent’s place, and the journey does include the dreaded M25, but I know when we get there we will be rewarded with an afternoon and evening of congeniality and er, wine.
