My 12 days of Christmas
Spent the early part of our day at Gatwick Airport, giving myself a shot in the arm with a large dose of caffeine at Costa Coffee in readiness for today’s drive that will take us to Kings Hill in Kent to gather my son and his suitcase of hair product and unmatched socks, he is almost a teenager after all, then back on the M25 in the other direction and the M40 to the Oxfordshire countryside.
The photo is of the River Thames at Shillingford, which is a beautiful spot very close to my other half’s sisters. The bridge at Shillingford crosses the River Thames and as soon as we drive over it, I know that we will be close to a warm shower and possibly my first official alcholic beverage of our Christmas holiday.
We should arrive in time at my unofficial in-laws to follow the goings on at Hillsborough, a game that I think will tell us a lot about how far we have come since winning promotion last season.
