If you know your history….
I was at Carlisle in 1986 (photo), a little too young in 1981 but I remember that day just as vividly. Heaven knows I wish I was going Saturday. The Addick corners of t’internet are in a cold sweat, the anxiety and apprehension is palpable and I am doing my utmost to ignore it.
I do know that those travelling up to historic Brunton Park this weekend will not include the nervous nellies, these will be Addicks ready to give every ounce of support and assurance and I salute you.
Come on you reds.

I’m in that photo! Catching the 5.30 train tonight so hoping for a treble, as I was there in 1981 too. Great memories, and hopefully adding one more…
And they got their just reward today – good on every one of them. I didn’t make it in 81 either – having trawled up to Rotherham thinking we would do it there I couldn’t afford to go to Carlisle! Typical. And worse for me was not being on the train back with the players for the party.
What a great day this is, and such a huge relief. Off out to a 50th birthday party tonight wearing Chrissie Powell’s vest.
